CLOSER LINKS BETWEEN AFRICA & UK

In 2020 a communications initiative was kicked off to have closer ties between the teachers and pupils from African schools in the areas that SJAA operates in and St George's Weybridge. There are challenges, not least the different languages, French is the official language in Congo, Gabon and Cameroon (English also spoken in Cameroon). The governments have also stopped the use of popular video conferencing software which is free to use over the internet (eg Zoom, Facebook Messenger, Whatspp, etc).  Although Covid-19 has also had an impact on our communications initiative, with schools in both Countries closed, initial messages were sent to each other celebrating St Joseph's Day.

St George's are intending to obtain the views of those benefiting from the SJAA projects already delivered and will publish the results in their magazine. These will be included here when available.
