Domiongo, DR Congo, Sewing Machines

The provision of sewing machines has been a successful initiative that is being used in a number of communities in DR Congo     and North Cameroon. The girls acquire a useful skill which they use to make garments that are worn and sold in the market. This provides an income and lifeline to the girls’ families. The school in Domiongo had just 3 sewing machines that were used by 150 girls, another 30 sewing machines have now been purchased so each girl gets practical experience.
